Sun, Fun, and Food

The snow is almost gone!!! You have to love spring snow when it traps you for a day and then turns 70 degrees and melts away. We met yesterday with our marathon relay team so that we all know who each other is to hand off at the relay points. Bob and Colleen are great captains and had the run maps printed and we estimated our run times. It is so much fun to be a part of this team and have a goal. It has helped AJ and I to get out and run together, both good for our health and our relationship.

Today is Menu day as well so go check out all the wonderful recipe ideas at Orginizing Junkie. Our list is short because we are going to be in Albuquerque the end of the week to visit the family and so AJ can go to the dentist.....Dr. Sei, AJ will travel around the world to see you.

Monday - Fish, Mashed Potatoes, veggie

Tuesday - book club; eggplant (possibly 1 or both of these recipes...1; 2)

Wednesday - Chicken/veggie Stir Fry

Thursday - Beef and Potato Curry crock pot

Friday- Sunday at the Grands

Monday - Pizza from the freezer or something easy

SNOW

I tried to think of a clever title for this post but really SNOW sums the day up. It started yesterday and has NOT stopped. We have about 20-24 in. of snow on the ground and it's still falling. In fact it looks like a regular old blizzard outside. We are hoping to go snowshoeing after AJ and Sam take a nap....AJ had no problem falling asleep...Sam is another story:)

AJ holding a tape measure at 1 foot.

We have been trying to stay busy indoors so we have bounced, played, baked cookies, and attempted to nap. We'll see how our moods are tomorrow.

Yesterday was a long day....

Everyone here had a long day yesterday. As I listen to Sam do everything in her power Not to take a nap....I reflect on a long day.
Thank you to Grandma for braving a long day of taking care of Sam. She was reminded of how long, exhausting, and time consuming a baby can be. They never want to stay in one place for very long and right now I think Sam is transitioning from 3 naps to 2. This makes for a noisy afternoon of strange nap times.
Plus the rolly polly girl stays busy in her crib.
Grandma had a long day because I had to work at the clinic. It was an incredibly hectic day and while easier then watching a baby, I was exhausted. I forgot how long the days can get....
AJ was busy doing car stuff and getting pics of the Camaro for the online auction. We'll let you all know when it is up and running.

AJ is off to work (at 3 this morning) and Sam and I have a busy day of playdate, swimming, errands, and some work. Little one is now asleep and i must get some dishes, laundry, grocery list done. It never ends does it!
I didn't do my meals yesterday so here is some that I'm doing:
Wednesday - corn Tacos
Saturday - chicken w/ Avacado, Potato salad
Sunday - Fish; veggies

Passion

We're just hangin' around these days....

Daddy has been cleaning up his Camaro because we're going to sell the Red Dragon. It is a sad time and very hard for A. We are making some choices in order to really get our goals lined out. AJ really wants to drag race and right now his race car needs a new engine. This plus other things we want to get in order mean that choices are being made....really HARD choices. So, Sammie wanted to pose for a pic on the beautiful Red Dragon. Dad, we love you and your passion for 69 Camaro's.

Diving Diva

Despite the freezing cold blizzard outside, today was the day Sam went under the water. We spent some time playing in the water and doing our regular exercises while Grandpa got his underwater camera ready. Keep in mind that she went under for about 2 seconds so it was not easy to get this picture.

We were too quick on the first 2 tries so we actually went under 3 times, she is such a good sport. She did well all three times. Notice her blowing bubbles and with open eyes!!!!

Appropriate Toys

This week the Works For Me Wednesday is an April Fools Backwards day. This means that we get to put a question out there and get some ideas in return. So, my current focus is on the new mental and developmental growths that our 6 month old Sam is striving to achieve. I have already decided to do a weekly rotation of toys so that she doesn't get bored but I really want ideas on age appropriate toys that don't have too much stimulation through lights and noises. I'm all for a little external stimulation but is it really necessary for the toy shelves to be nothing put obnoxious plastic entertainment!!!

Please, help me to decide what can aid Sam in her growth over the next 6 months but not just keep her busy.

Thanks to all the moms!!
